Attorney Johnnie Cochran successfully pleads for a new trial for his client, Geronimo Pratt of the Black Panther Party
Mary Chaney, documentary artist, sketched from life in the courtroom as well as life on the streets. Her courtroom work has been broadcast nationally and internationally by ABC, CNN, FOX, NBC, KTTV and Court TV.
Her illustrations are included in the Smithsonian American History Museum, and the United States Air Force Art Collection.
The artist's courtroom sketches and illustrations have been included in several law reviews. Her art has been exhibited in various Southern California galleries including exhibits at Loyola Law School, "Justice on Trial".
Other notable works have been featured in The Los Angeles Sheriffs’ Art Documentary “The Badge and the Brush" and "My Mom Is In Jail". Her sketches of the Los Angeles homeless in "A Tender Dignity" have been exhibited throughout various Los Angeles venues.
